Description
The Guideline AURA series represents a bold refinement of fly reel design engineering - a Guideline design exploration into optimised perfection. Rather than overbuilding or over- sizing, AURA delivers exactly what is required. No excess, no compromise - for precision and purpose - creating a symbiotic harmony between form and function. Every choice, from weight distribution to finish, serves a clear purpose: to enhance the angler’s experience. By uniting precision engineering with purposeful restraint, Guideline have created a reel family that elevates performance into beauty — light, strong, and uncompromising, yet elegant in its simplicity.
AURA fly reels covers a wealth of situations; from agile single-hand trout fishing to longer two-handed spey applications. Every size has been meticulously matched to its purpose, creating a range of modern fly reels that feels precise, balanced, and intuitive in the hand. Larger diameters accelerate line pick-up and improve fish control, while carefully tuned spool widths deliver even line lay without stack. By refining volumes to the precise needs of each application, capacities remain efficient, allowing the reels to stay lightweight and perfectly counterbalance the modern, advanced rod technologies.
This meaningful design exploration extends beyond proportions into the finer details that define modern performance in fly reels. A fully sealed carbon-fiber disc drag system ensures smooth, consistent resistance across the full spectrum of fishing conditions, protecting the lightest tippets while still offering absolute stopping power against larger fish. CNC-machined drag knobs provide tactile security for confident adjustments, even in cold or wet environments, while dual-anodised finishes combine durability with refined visual appeal. Spey-specific models incorporate a solid line guard, adding mass to properly balance longer rods and reinforcing the structural integrity expected in demanding situations.
The AURA series consists of six different reels, and goes from a small #34 trout model up to a powerful #1012 salmon reel. A new offering is a dedicated Euro Nymph model with an even larger diameter and more narrow spool. The reels are available in three colour-ways with dual anodized colour finishing; Bronze, Titanium, and Blue, to harmonize with a large range of rod colours and reel seats. All models are suitable for both salt and freshwater environments, targeting a multitude of species. The fully sealed carbon-fibre disc drag system offers a maximum drag output of 3.0 kg on the single hand models, while the two double hand models, #810 & #1012, generate 4.0 kg of max drag output.

FITTING GUIDE AND ADVICE
For Guideline Wading Boots, please order one size larger than your normal UK shoe size.
Taking accurate body measurements is one of the keys to a great fit; all you need is a tape measure.
While it's easiest to have someone else take your measurements, you can also do it yourself.
Stand in front of a mirror to make sure you have the tape measure in the right position. Ideally, you should be measured wearing only your underwear or close fitting clothing.
Because the body is made of soft tissue, it can be a bit difficult to know exactly how tight to pull the tape around the body.
The tape should be a bit snug, but not tight-it should not "dig in" or make an indentation in the body. It should not be loose, either! Just wrap the tape around the area of the body being measured and hold it in place. You should be able to put a finger behind the tape, but no more than that.
To measure the length of the foot, stand with your back against a wall and put the foot so the heel touches the wall. Then take a measurement at the position of your longest toe. Do this with a bare foot.
Please note! All measurements are presented in centimeters and are measures of your own body, not the garment.
These charts are only a guide to find the size you need. Trying them on, in real life, is always the best way to find a perfect fit.
The fit of fishing clothing is not only about size of your body. It also comes down to personal preferences of how loose or slim you want them.
If you often fish during the cold weather season and have the need for extra base and fleece-layers, remember to allow for this when you choosing your size.
