Guideline Jock Flies

The Jock is a variant of the iconic pattern Jock Scott. The combination of yellow and black in a fly is never wrong, these colours are highly visible and gives good contrast under most circumstances.

This fly fish well throughout the season, both day and night. A true all-round pattern that will be very effective in most rivers. The original Jock Scott was probably tied the first time in 1862 of the British riverkeeper Jock Scott before his trip to Norway for salmon fishing. The pattern is tied in many variants and the classic original version is regarded as one of the most complicated flies to tie, a true challenge for the fly tier seeking to complete his apprenticeship.

TD means Temple dog style; these flies are tied on high quality plastic tubes with brass coneheads to balance up and make the fly get down faster to where the salmon is. Temple dog flies, first tied by Håkan Norling from Sweden has nice tapered wings, made of several sections of high-quality fox hair. To make the wings come alive there are also flash tied into the wings and brush out. Our TD series is variants of well-known classics and features our own custom synthetic Jungle Cock that are flexible and made of an almost indestructible material. Like our other flies they are very well tied and probably the most durable flies on the market, made to last many days of fishing.

Please advise when placing your order via the web or phone if it would be more convenient to leave your parcel in a safe place or with a neighbour, we can pass these instruction onto the couriers, this would be done at your own risk.

We deliver to addresses in the UK Mainland, Scottish Islands, Northern Ireland, Isle Of Man, Guernsey and Jersey.

Postage/Packaging will be charged on all deliveries.

OVERSEAS CUSTOMERS

RETURNS

We will gladly exchange or refund any unused goods if you return them to us in a saleable condition within 90 days of receipt. Simply post your goods back to us in an unused condition, in their original packaging with any labels attached, together with a copy of your invoice and a covering letter explaining your requirements.
