Guideline and Yorkshire Fly Fly Fishing Event with John Norris of Penrith
As well as our In Store Mega Sale event Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th May 2019, Guideline and Yorkshire Fly hosted a Fly Fishing Event in conjunction with John Norris of Penrith on the River Eden at Langwathby. Presented by members of the Guideline Power Team (Jim Curry, Rune Stokkebekk, Charles Jardine, Chris Hague, Cohn O'Dea, Neil Barcock and Mark Strong) the weekend was all about innovation, both in tackle and its application.
Customers, local club members and fly fishing enthusiasts were treated to technique demonstrations and tackle talks from some of the best in the sport, whose knowledge and experience is unrivalled. The feedback from the event was phenomenal, with those attending leaving inspired to try new techniques in search of their next catch.
Highlights of demonstrations included the Guideline ULS 10ft Rod paired with the Ultra Compact line kit, combining to make one of the lightest switch-style set ups on the market. Feedback from the day was that this combination was fun to cast, could provide incredible shooting distance and was incredibly lightweight. The ULS range starts with an incredible 10ft 5wt which left anglers stunned, due to its jaw dropping capabilities for such a lightweight setup!
Another notable new bit of kit was the Guideline NT8 four-piece combined with the Guideline 4D line set up. After the incredibly successful launch of the six piece NT8 two years previous, the four piece model had a lot to live up to. It did not disappoint! This slightly faster version of the NT8 was brought to life by the revolutionary Guideline 4D setup! Customers were wowed at how much distance could be achieved with so little effort. A truly remarkable outfit!

We asked our own James Norris, who attended the event, to summarise the event; “This year’s show was the best I have ever seen!! Guideline were kind enough to send a full team of experts which allowed customers more time for personal interaction and one to on tuition. Everyone learnt so many new techniques and tips and felt the improvement to their knowledge was invaluable.”
