Ultra-Light, Ultra fun and Ultra effective! The Guideline ULS Hybrid Rods are tailor-made to fit their range of ULS lines and that ultra-light style of fishing with shorter shooting heads that have proven itself to be so easy to handle and effective.

With the success of the ULS line system and the extended use of the concept, Guideline saw the potential for developing some “specialised” rod models, based on test results from use with ULS 3D+ and Multi Tip lines. They have been asked to develop some ultralight, small double hand rods for quite some time now and decided to build these with a variation of their Switch handles to match the shorter rod length. When test-fishing them, they found that they perform absolutely fantastic as single hand rods and with this customised grip design, felt it was only natural to name these rods ULS “Hybrid”, as they sure are something right in between a Switch- and a Single handed rod. The intended use of these rods is river fishing for trout, sea trout, salmon and steelhead. However they have found them to be very capable and a joy to use also from the bank of a lake or while boat fishing for pike, perch and rainbows.

These rods are very easy to use when single hand spey casting! The deep, yet powerful action make these rods very tolerant against casting "errors" in the anchoring phase and the longer stroke give the caster more time “planning” the cast, when the leader hits the water. You easily connect with the bottom part of the rod and the typical catapult effect will come with very little use of force.

If you are targeting larger trout and grayling or migratory fish on medium sized tree-lined rivers where the use of even longer rods and lines is very limited, these rods tick all the boxes.

Guideline have used high strain, low-resin content material to achieve extremely light and thin blank profiles. The flex is deep, yet fast and lends itself perfectly for use with their ULS lines, but will also work superb with Ultra Compact Heads and WF lines with short heads like the Bullet or Fario WF lines.

FITTING GUIDE AND ADVICE

Taking accurate body measurements is one of the keys to a great fit; all you need is a tape measure.
While it's easiest to have someone else take your measurements, you can also do it yourself.
Stand in front of a mirror to make sure you have the tape measure in the right position. Ideally, you should be measured wearing only your underwear or close fitting clothing.
Because the body is made of soft tissue, it can be a bit difficult to know exactly how tight to pull the tape around the body.
The tape should be a bit snug, but not tight-it should not "dig in" or make an indentation in the body. It should not be loose, either! Just wrap the tape around the area of the body being measured and hold it in place. You should be able to put a finger behind the tape, but no more than that.
To measure the length of the foot, stand with your back against a wall and put the foot so the heel touches the wall. Then take a measurement at the position of your longest toe. Do this with a bare foot.
Please note! All measurements are presented in centimeters and are measures of your own body, not the garment.
These charts are only a guide to find the size you need. Trying them on, in real life, is always the best way to find a perfect fit.
The fit of fishing clothing is not only about size of your body. It also comes down to personal preferences of how loose or slim you want them.
If you often fish during the cold weather season and have the need for extra base and fleece-layers, remember to allow for this when you choosing your  size.
