Fishing Tackle Essentials

John Norris fishing tackle essentials will help you to get the most out of the time you spend fishing. Instead of making do with something that's worn out, or not designed to be used for fishing, why not get the right tools for the job?

Your fishing rod is probably the most important item of fishing tackle, and so you'll want to make sure that you've got the right one. If you're going salmon fishing, you'll want one that's designed for catching salmon, rather than trout, and that your rod isn't too long or too short. In addition, you might want a lighter or heavier fishing rod than you're currently using.

With lots of different sorts of fishing reels available, again, you'll want to make sure that you're using the right sort. Perhaps if you're struggling to reel fish in, because your reel or other items of fishing tackle have seen better days, you might want to see if there's an alternative that will help you catch more fish.

The fishing line you use will vary depending on what you're fishing for, and where. Catching heavier fish will need a stronger line, and if you're fishing in a river near trees, you'll want to ensure that your line doesn't snag on branches. If you're making do with your current fishing tackle, why not see how much of a difference the right fishing tackle could make?

Fishing clothing needs to keep you warm and dry, and be comfortable and you're sure to find what you're looking for here on the John Norris site. It's also a good idea to see if you can still use your fishing tackle when you've got your gloves on too.

Keeping your balance when the terrain is muddy or rough requires the right sort of footwear. As well as your fishing tackle, you'll want to make sure that your boots are suitable. Perhaps you'll want a pair of Hunter wellingtons, or waterproof Harkila boots, or maybe you'd like a pair of Dubarry leather boots.

Your waders need to be strong enough to be worn in all sorts of waters. You won't want them tearing on branches or rocks whilst you're in the water, or on your way to or from the car. With neoprene waders offering plenty of warmth, if your current waders aren't comfortable, or are ripped, then perhaps you should get a new pair when you buy your fishing tackle.
